The aim of the workshop is to provide you with an opportunity to get down to basics and learn all the things about nature you have always wondered about.
We have at our disposal a most amazing private nature reserve situated in the Little Karoo. The reserve lends itself perfectly to this kind of experience and is a mere 3½ hours drive from Cape Town along the well-known Route 62.
The workshop will consist of outdoor morning theory sessions where the basics are covered by highly to knowledgeable nature guides, followed by afternoon practical excursions where the wonders of nature are incorporated.
Days won’t be perfect without a sun-downer at one of the many picturesque areas on the reserve.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided and dinner will be enjoyed around a campfire.
Accommodation is in our bush-camp tucked far away in the reserve where the hustle and bustle of city life can be forgotten for a precious few nights and nature enjoyed like never before!
Fields covered during the workshop are: plants, insects, soil types, small mammals, birds, antelope, basic geology and ecology and how all these role-players interact to make it all happen.
Although we aim to improve your knowledge and understanding of the natural environment we do not intend making you fully fledged nature conservationists either. Relaxation and enjoyment of the experience is just as high on the agenda and we will pull out all the stops to ensure this.
We therefore limit the number of participants to a maximum of 8.
If you think this is something for you please contact Altis to discuss the finer detail.
