Our 21-day camping safari trip with Altis was an amazing adventure!
Altis is an incredible guide and thanks to his personal touch, vast knowledge of nature and animal life, cooking skills (braai-expert and bread-in-a-pot) and sense of humor, this was an unforgettable experience.
Altis even got us all into birding :-). We always felt safe and Altis was very well prepared which made the trip very enjoyable and relaxed.
We highly recommend a safari trip with Africa’s Best Adventures!!! More
We will round it down to 5400km! The rafting was great and some cold berry juice upon our arrival in A Zambezi Lodge 😃. Altis, thanks again for a great vacation, we will remember it forever.
We will spread the word and perhaps first oppty is next year if I can get my dad excited about a 12-15 day trip.
All the best!
Rob Welland and family.
Many thanks to Africa’s Best Adventures for putting together such a good packages with an excellent variety of places to visit and things to see.
The trip really was a great success. We were delighted with the expertise of our guide Altis Kriel (as expected after earlier trips with him to Botswana and Namibia) and have no hesitation in recommending Africa’s Best Adventures to anybody wishing a great experience in Africa.
Altis was always very helpful and catered to our every need. From the driving to the cooking, all was wonderfuland the extra stops at Hermanus and Cape Agulhas.
All in all we were hugely satisfied with the whole trip and we had a wonderful time. Thank you all for you expertise and hard work to give us a memorable holiday.

Thanks to Altis Kriel’s professionalism and glance, we had the chance to discover the wild life and to observe many animals into Addo Elephant National Park.
We also enjoyed camping thanks to him; all was easy-going with nice barbecues.
I felt very safe and comfortable even after many kilometres, first because he is a perfect driver and also because he has a great car.
He took the time to show us some beautiful landscapes as the Garden Route, national lake, Cape Agulhas (…), sharing his experience!
Thanks again Altis, for your hospitality and your good mood.
I’d love to repeat such trip with my family one day.
We have just returned from our safari at Addo National Park with Altis as our guide. It was perfect. Alts is very knowledgeable about the area and the animals. The safari was planned perfectly, timings were great, food cooked on the camp fire and bbq was tasty. There was always a cup of coffee waiting for us which was appreciated! We spent 4 nights/5days with Altis and he was great company we had long chats about South Africa culture and we learnt so much on the trip. Our return along the Garden Route was leisurely and he stopped at interesting places showing us more of the country, it was more than just a safari and we made a good friend in Altis.
I am finally home, long flight and six hours layover in London including changing airports.
Thanks so much for taking my case right up to the conveyor belt, as you know it was heavy so I really appreciated it.
I think we made some great memories on our safari trip, thanks for being patient with me taking so many photos! It’s also fine by me to use the photos taken yesterday, I think he did a good job of taking them!
Maybe we will meet again for a Botawana/Namibia trip, it’s very tempting.
For a first acquaintance with South Africa, traveling with our guide Altis was a very nice experience: well-prepared trip by 4×4 car to varied destinations. Flexible timing and destinations can always be discussed: during the trip we were able to adapt the program to wishes and the weather.
This first time: camping in Mossel Bay, stopover in Knysna, camping for a few days in Addo National Park, Bontebok National Park and ending with a trip along the coast: Cape Agulhas, Garden Route – Cape Town. No moment of boredom! Camping in this relaxed way is a pleasure to discover the country. I step so again at Altis in the car for another trip!

The second part of our 4-person South Africa trip (end of October / Beginning of November) was organized by our friends with Guide Altis, whom they met in Namibia, he drove us from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. Various intermediate stops at beautiful-suggested places-with good hotels, combined with interesting excursions, to the Cape of Good Hope, where he surprised us with a picnic brought.
Driving with him was very pleasant. He has very great knowledge of South Africa (lives in Cape Town) and has informed about cities, nature and people and has also been on “shopping” – wishes received 🙂 Altis is a great and extremely friendly travel guide, a sympathetic “nature boy”, always punctual and always in a good mood. We highly recommend him and company “Africa’s Best Adventures”!
Thank you again for this wonderful trip!
We enjoyed it very much and you really are a perfect and wonderful guide.

We met Altis 4 years ago in Namibia. That’s why we asked him to be our guide for our trip to South Africa. Already the preparations were vary good.
He made us very good suggestions for the hotels / lodges and put together a great program for the whole trip.
Afterwards he organized and booked everything for us.
Program: Port Elizabeth, Tsitsikamma Forest, Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay, Hermanus, Stellenbosch, Cape Point, Cape Town.
It all worked out great.
Altis is a great guide, very friendly, very helpful, always punctual (Like a Swiss watch) and he knows a lot about South Africa.
We can warmly recommend him and are already planning another trip to Botswana with him.
Altis you are the best.
Warm regards, Doris
