Water crossings, muddy patches, some of the thickest sand in the world as well as badly corrugated roads, are some of the obstacles you will encounter on your dream African safari.

Add to this the occasional African road block in the form of elephant, buffalo or giraffe and you have just about all Africa can throw at you.

Although this might sound daunting, rest assured it’s everything but, and by doing a couple of things right you will emerge at the other end unscathed, in good spirits, and very much fulfilled.

You came to Africa and you conquered!

In order to achieve this great feat there are 2 important recommendations: 
Firstly hire the perfect African tourer, the Toyota Land Cruiser or Hilux, fully kitted, robust and perfectly up to the task.

Secondly appoint someone like an experienced 4×4 driver, nature guide, animal tracker and food fanatic, Altis Kriel, with years of experience traveling Africa to lead the way while you can relax and enjoy your adventure but still steer your own ship.

Altis is a complete peoples person and find nothing more rewarding than opening up some of Africa’s more elusive avenues to someone like you.

Allow us to take care of all the planning and logistics, from vehicle reservations to back up services, to park entries, campsites, game drives, airport collections, food supplies, caution around veterinarian fences, fuel requirements, communications and more, long before your arrival, allowing you to land on African soil stress free and daring to go!

After an initial discussion around your expectations, timetable and country of choice we will proceed to design a few options, complete with vehicle type, routes, duration, attractions and costing for your perusal.

Once a route is selected and a budget approved we get to work ensuring that all logistics are addressed, while you sit back and receive weekly updates on the progress as we go along.

Ensuring suitable bookings in Africa can be a slow process and I suggest the initial discussions to take place 10 to 12 months prior to your arrival date. Of course a shorter booking period is possible, but you might not be able to get those perfect camping spots secured well in advance.
