This tour is for the discerning traveller who wishes to experience the beauty of Cape Town, South Africa, as well as the rugged beauty of the bush and where else to do this than the mighty Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest and best National park by far.
The Kruger National Park is home not to only the Big Five, but also to such an abundance of wildlife that a visit to the Park is an absolute must.
ROUTE: (CAPE TOWN – JOHANNESBURG)
DAY 1:
You are met at Cape Town International Airport by your guide and after introductions you will embark on a full day tour of the city, visiting the popular attractions the city has to offer. We conclude the day with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, the new 7th wonder of the world!
We deliver you to your lodging after a full but rewarding day.
DAY 2:
After an early breakfast we drive along the Atlantic Ocean all the way to Hout Bay where we embark on a 45 minute boat cruise to Duiker Island, the home of a large seal colony.
Next up is beautiful Cape Point via Chapman’s Peak, where the Indian and Atlantic waters meet.
We follow this with a visit to the large penguin colony on the Indian Ocean side of the Cape and spend a leisurely hour amongst these interesting creatures.
After a luncheon in Simonstown, our Naval Headquarters, we head back to our lodging via the quaint fishing village of Kalk Bay.
DAY 3:
Our first stop this morning is Fairview Wine Estate where you are treated to a private cheese and wine tasting.
The historic town of Franschhoek follows next. This is where the French Hugenots who arrived in the Cape in 1688 settled and the town is rich and full of French tradition.
After a sight-seeing stroll through town we move on to our second wine tasting venue namely La Motte Estate. Here we sample some more of the Cape’s best.
South Africa’s second oldest town is visited next. Stellenbosch is rich in Dutch tradition and architecture and we show you the highlights.
Our lunch and last wine tasting of the day is enjoyed at Blaawklippen Estate, known for excellent brandy and wine.
DAY 4:
Excitement mounts as you board your plane for Hoedspruit, a small airport next to the Kruger National Park.
After a 3 hour flight we collect you at the airport and deliver you to Panzi Lodge, your home for the next 3 nights.
After a light luncheon we embark on a game drive of the lodge where you are guaranteed to have your first sightings of some of the Big Five.
DAY 5:
Today we enjoy a full day game drive inside the park and hope to see more of the magic that roams inside. Today our lunch will be a picnic at one of the picnic spots inside the park.
After a full day we enjoy a candle lit dinner at our lodge, overlooking the watering hole, where animals quench their thirst in full view of the diners.
DAY 6:
This is the day to enjoy the scenic panoramic route where without a doubt South Africa’s most beautiful landscape scenes can be found. The views are breath-taking and we do many stops, allowing you to take it all in.
Back at the lodge our last dinner is enjoyed and we have much to reminisce about and before tomorrow’s flight back home.
DAY 7:
After an early breakfast we experience a bush walk with a highly skilled nature tracker. He teaches you a little more about the intricacies of the bush and we may also encounter some wildlife along the way.
After freshening up it is time to say our goodbyes as you are delivered to the airport for your flight home. You now leave Africa, but vow to come back again…and again…

Cape Town with all its attractions including:
Table Mountain
Victoria and Alfred waterfront
Cape Point
Chapmans Peak

Simonstown
The Panorama Route in Mpumalanga
Game drives in the best nature reserve of SA – the Kruger National Park
This is the perfect adventure for those who really want to see Cape Town, or is in Cape Town on business, but to also experience one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Both these attractions are absolutely amazing and visiting both of them in one safari will be first prize.
It’s a relatively short tour, but man it packs a lot of punch
Although this is sold as a lodge tour, camping at the Kruger is also an option and guests can therefore combine a bit of luxury with some ruggedness while camping, and in doing so experience the best of both worlds!
It’s further interesting to note that Cape Town with its mediterranean climate is at the southerly tip of South Africa whilst the Kruger is all the way in the north with a typical bush veld climate and summer rainfall.
Cape Town will provide a huge amount of cultural and scenic attractions whilst abundant wildlife will be the order of the day during the Kruger leg.
