Discover the incredible wildlife, beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage of South Africa.

As a tourist in South Africa you will be pleasantly surprized by the amazing beauty of the country as well as the level to which the country is developed compared to the rest of Africa. As far as infrastructure goes South Africa compares favourably with most countries in the world and in fact is better than many.

Tourism is a huge employer of people and you will meet many great safari guides, lodge staff and local people during your stay. The tourism destinations in South Africa are many and varied. Starting in Cape Town with Table Mountain being one of the Natural Wonders of the world, 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites like Robben Island, the Cape Floral Kingdom, St Lucia Wetlands, the Drakensberg and more as well as sought after attractions like Cape Point, Agulhas, V&A Waterfront, the glorious Garden Route and the Kruger National Park visitors are truly spoilt for choice.

At Africa’s Best Adventures we offer you a wide choice of options in South Africa. You can choose between luxurious lodge & hotel safaris, adventurous serviced camping trips or a guided self drive safari.

All our tours are led by our experienced guides, so you don’t have to worry about anything. Imagine having your own personal expert showing the wonders of Africa, delicious, freshly cooked meals, and incredible stories about the destinations, cultures and wildlife.

Shopping is amazing and you will find everything you need in abundance.

Banking, money exchange, card machines are everywhere and of good quality. Visa, Master and American Express cards are accepted everywhere. The Rand/USD/ Euro exchange rate is always favourable to tourists, making vacations in South Africa relatively cheap.

Medical care is excellent with many private hospitals everywhere.

Malaria is prevalent in the Northern regions including the Kruger National Park whilst the southern regions including Cape Town are malaria free. Speak to your local health practitioner before leaving your country of origin.

Water in taps is generally good for drinking, although bottled water is freely available too.

Crime in South Africa is higher than you would expect and government is constantly working hard to reduce crime levels as much as possible. Tourist areas generally are well policed and safe for tourists travelling in groups.

Temperatures vary from Region to Region. Whilst the Cape Region has a Mediterranean climate, Northern areas enjoy summer rainfall, making such areas substantially colder during the dry season, followed by warmer conditions during the wet season. Roads are very good in the Southern provinces with average to poor in the Northern areas.

Wildlife is astoundingly good in most of the National Parks as well as the private reserves. The Big Five can frequently be seen when visiting some of the many reserves.

Cell phone, digital and electrical connections are good, although power outages do occur at times.

Car hire is very good with many suppliers to choose from in most cities.

Filling stations are everywhere and fuel prices very affordable.

So what is it like for a tourist in South Africa?

You will be blown away by the level of development, scenic beauty, the large array of wildlife, the pleasant people and more than likely return for another taste of the magic of Southern Africa!

We show you South Africa through the eyes of the locals. Let us take you on an adventure of a lifetime.
