As we custom design the majority of our adventure safaris, so do we custom design the meals we serve…
To us variety and nutrition are the keys and we go all out to ensure wholesome enjoyable dishes.
MEALS ON SAFARI
Starting the day the right way
Since we travel far and wide we start the day with a warm coffee and biscuits while having a chat about our plans for the day.
On occasion we add a little cheese for the cheese lovers from around the world as they seem to function a lot better after a slice or two of their favourite treat!
We like to serve a really good brunch at around 11am and have a cold and warm option, depending on our travel schedule for the day.
On low key travel days we offer warm oats, muesli and yogurt as well as some fruit to the health conscious. For the rest we offer a bit of an English breakfast with scramble egg, bacon, tomato, mushrooms all served with toast.
On days with a heavy travel schedule time is precious and here we serve a selection of cold items including salami, cheese, gherkins, tomato, boiled egg, pickles, a fruit or two and more with crackers, corn cakes or home baked rolls.
Coffee and tea is available at all times.

Dinner time around the fire
Dinners are prepared and enjoyed around campfire and here we really enjoy treating you to some wonderful dishes.
Variety is sometimes an issue when traveling as supplies might be limited. We do however do our best to serve outstanding meals.
Examples of the kind of dinners you might expect to get are:
Springbok stew, mielie pap and salad.
Ostrich steak, grilled cherry toatoes, baby potatoes, mushrooms and grilled corn served with rice. Kudu mince cottage pie Impala stew in a black pot served with samp and salad.
Eland burgers with tomato, onion, gherkins and bacon served on freshly baked rolls.
Beef goulash prepared in red wine served with carrots, baby potatoes, mushrooms and brown rice. Mildly spiced Chicken curry and pasta served with a side salad.
Most dinners are followed by a sweet. Here we will surprise you with some interesting servings, for example melted chocolate, marshmallow and banana prepared over the coals. Another popular after dinner treat is chocolate filled mini rolls baked over the coals.
As mentioned earlier we go full out to ensure that your meals are amazing and in keeping with the excitement and wonder of your daily program of discovering the magic of Africa.
For the wine lovers we always have special treats too and we regularly offer wine tastings around campfire before serving dinner…How about comparing the qualities of two very good Sauvignon blancs or Cabernets of different regions, different vintage, or even different countries. You name it, we have it! We serve it and you taste it!
We look forward to spoiling you on your African Adventure with Arica’s Best Adventures.
